The United States (7-0) won their first FIBA 3×3 World Cup gold medal after securing a dominant 22-8 win over Poland (5-2) in the semifinal and a tight 18-game defensive battle. -14 over latvia (5-2) in the gold medal game on sunday night in amsterdam.

latvia scored first in the gold medal game and led 2-1 after 2:33 of play. huffman, who finished with a game-high eight points, hit a pair of 2’s to give the us. uu. an advantage he would never give up.

“It was a team deal,” Hummel said. “everyone contributed a lot. Kareem in the final was the man on the boards, Damon hit some big shots and Canyon played better and better as the tournament went on. this is a guy who has been playing 3×3 for about three weeks. so, he really grew up and showed what he can be. he was outstanding. but it was just an amazing team win for all of us.”
In addition to Huffman, who went 3-for-5 from 2-point range, Maddox scored five points and grabbed a game-high seven rebounds, Hummel had four points and five rebounds and Barry added one point.
