arnold is back.
every year arnold makes this claim, but this year it rang true. Although the competition had moved on during the pandemic, consumer exposure and confidence had rightly been low and nearly depleted.
The expo over the weekend, particularly on Saturday, was packed to the brim, sponsors flocked, and local restaurants, gyms, and nearby Columbus hotels welcomed the much larger crowd to Arnold Classic.

I’ve been personally attending this show for the last 18 years and it was a relief to once again enjoy the “good morning” from the arnold classic, where the numbers went up, the excitement increased and normalcy returned.
a new competition that was added to the list of events was the slap fight. logan paul and arnold were on hand to comment and witness the event which garnered a lot of attention for its sheer insanity where competitors take turns literally slapping each other in the face
I ran into arnold at the golds gym in venice just a few days before the classic geared up for its trip to columbus for the 34th year of its event to give away almost $800,000 in prizes.
Hair band rocker dee snider from twisted sister kicked off the entertainment before the highly anticipated categories began.
Five weeks earlier, the 2022 arnold classic was set to be a stacked lineup. unfortunately 6 competitors had since dropped out for various reasons, but we still got to see a class of 9 quality physiques.
The judges worked hard with the top two favorites and previous winners of the arnold show, brandon curry and william bonac. it was an extremely clear battle between these two champions.
1st place brandon curry
brandon curry was ultimately crowned the winner, who also took home the $10,000 bonus for best poser.
brandon had made improvements since friday nights bias, which was noticeable in body parts like his quads, which seemed smaller and unbalanced compared to his massive upper body. Curry didn’t have the muscularity or deep cleavage of Bonac, but his symmetry and physical flow reigned supreme.
2nd place william bonac
although william bonac put on an impressive overall package that was ripped, extremely full and muscular enough to take home the most muscular award, the judges placed him second, which was backed up by some boos from the crowd.
although william looked great in some poses, others were not so impressive. It looked like he had tried to turn the carb up too high, resulting in a slightly swollen midsection. william looked very dominant in side poses, especially in ham binds, glutes and quads, but he had a slight film of water on his waist. I think Williams’ gynecomastia, seen through abs and sideways poses, may also have contributed to his second behind Brandon.
3rd place steve kuclo
steve kuclo took home third place and brought an impressive physique that got better the more he posed. he didn’t look much different than yesterday’s bias, but he was competitive enough due to his massive 6’2 frame and 275+ pounds. He provided the crowd with plenty of entertainment within his powerful routine with Black Sabbath blowing up the crowd.
4th place samson dauda
samson dauda from the uk surprised many of us when he came in fourth place. At first he posed with classic tunes but soon transitioned into a tribute to a previous olympic routine by kevin levrone and the song looked drier and fuller tonight, which probably moved him up a notch or two in prejudice. from yesterday.
fifth justin rodriguez
justin was softer tonight and was holding water. Although Justin has some very impressive poses and huge body parts, her more blocked midsection doesn’t allow her physique to flow, especially in transitions into poses. an impressive placement of his 8th place mr. However, she Olympiad last year.
