National Signing Day 2015: Top 25 team recruiting rankings – Sports Illustrated

for the first time since 2010, alabama does not lead rivals.com’s team recruiting rankings. USC, which also topped the Rivals.com rankings in 2010, jumped the crimson tide for the top spot in 2015. Instead, Alabama will have to settle for second-class in the country.

The Trojans closed out their recruiting this year with a bang, notching four five-star recruits between Tuesday and Wednesday to finish with 26 total commitments, 21 of which were rated as four- or five-star talent. The last time USC topped the recruiting rankings was its last class before NCAA-imposed sanctions limited the number of scholarships available. With those sanctions ending last summer, the Trojans picked up where they left off.

USC’s cross-town rivals also closed out strong, as UCLA picked up commitments from five-star Bland Jamabo and four-star Chris Clark, Cordell Broadus and Josh Wariboko on National Signing Day to finish with the no. 13 draft class and no. 2 class in the pac-12. The Bruins could get even better if four-star linebacker Roquan Smith, who made a commitment to UCLA on Wednesday but later backed out of his commitment, opts to stay with them.

The top 25 are a mix of shows that made big jumps on national signing day and those that rested relatively quietly. while usc, ucla, auburn (no. 6) and florida (no. 23) got big commitments on wednesday, alabama, florida state (no. 3) and clemson (no. 4) sat idly by, pleased that most of his recruiting classes had already been filled with early registrations.
