Ohio State four-star DE target to commit this month – Land-Grant Holy Land

College football is fast approaching. in a matter of weeks, not now. 2 buckeyes from the state of ohio will host now no. 5 notre dame in an atmosphere that is sure to be electric. while most of the focus is rightfully on September. 3, don’t expect there to be a decline in ohio state in college football recruiting headlines. Monday was more of the same, as the team hopes to continue adding to this year’s class.

umeozulu will be confirmed in 2 weeks

ohio state has once again built an impressive recruiting class in 2023. currently the tour sits at no. 4 in the 247sports team rankings, and the buckeyes aren’t done adding to the class. however, just a few weeks ago, things seemed on the brink of collapse on the defensive front.

As you might expect with a passionate fan base, thankfully, it seems the buckeye nation was overreacting a bit. Since the turn of the month, the Buckeyes have added two top-tier defenders to the class in four-star linebacker arvell reese (cleveland, oh) and four-star safety jayden bonsu (jersey city, nj) and hope that August continues to be nice to them.

Four-star defensive end and Ohio State target Desmond Umeozulu (Upper Marlboro, MD) will announce his decision in August. 29 and the Buckeyes are among his last four schools.

Along with Ohio State, Umeozulu included Pitt, UNC and South Carolina in its final four, but the Buckeyes have been the favorites to get it since officially visiting the program for a summer recruiting camp in June. days after the visit, 247sports recruiting director steve wiltfong submitted a crystal ball prediction in favor of the buckeyes and this remains the only prediction submitted.

While umeozulu is far from a guarantee to turn into a buckeye in two weeks, the team should be more than thrilled with where they sit with him. He’s also not the only top-tier target in the Ohio State position. Buckeyes are still heavily involved in recruiting five-star Matayo Uiagalelei (Bellflower, CA). He has not yet set a commitment date, but horse chestnuts have also been seen as the favorites for uiagalei.

If the Buckeyes can add both Umeozulu and Uiagalelei to their class of 2023, all concerns about Ohio State’s ability to recruit on the defensive end of the ball show should fade, albeit probably slowly.

four star ath target could soon make an announcement

ohio state doesn’t have many commitments in its 2024 recruiting class, but the one they do have in five-star quarterback dylan raiola (chandler, arizona) has the class in the correct step. Raiola is not only the highest ranked QB in next year’s class, he is also No. 1 general recruit.

the buckeyes are still very focused on finishing the class of 2023, the team is also very involved in recruiting future classes. Hopefully this early work pays off soon for the buckeyes, as four-star athlete Kylan Fox (Loganville, GA) hinted on Monday that he’ll release an update of some kind soon. yes, we realize this. there are a lot of uncertainties, but that’s college football recruiting for you.

fox mentioned well-known college football recruiting twitter editor hayes fawcett, which, if you read it, means he should release some kind of recruiting update soon.

if fox releases an update soon, it will probably be a list of the best schools. If this is the case, expect the state of Ohio to make the cut. The Buckeyes offered by Fox in June and have been discussed as contenders for their services. Along with the Buckeyes, he has been offered programs by NC State, Florida State, Tennessee, Georgia, Alabama, Florida, and Texas A&M.

fox is already seen as one of the top recruits in next year’s class. he is no. 22 in the 247sports composite ranking and is no. 162 overview. he is also the no. 29 recruits from the talent rich state of georgia.
